At the time I recorded this, I was having a lot of trouble with the site I was recording on...they limit you to two minutes, and if there's more than a 3 second break in speaking they end the recording. Not conducive to singing, let me tell ya.
It's ironic that I choose this because it was simple and sweet, because the truth is, it couldn't be any more accurate of this journal space I am creating. It is even the inspiration for this journal's name! I wasn't very happy with it when I recorded it, but it is a song that has definitely grown upon me.
Nice. Now SingShot's embedding tools are no longer playing well with LJ. How bloody frustrating should it be to use tools together?? Not at all, that's how. If people can use the technology easily, they won't use it at all. Stupid programs.
So, here's the link to a newer song, "Sand and Water" by Beth Neilsen-Chapman. I think I didn't post this one because as sometimes happens, SingShot lined the background tracks up just a millisecond off, and I didn't like how I wasn't lined up with the backgroun on the chorus. But I didn't do too bad a job, and even if I did I wouldn't care. I love this song, and it's my very favorite artist. So a tribute to her, then. :o)
I did this for a contest of girls singing boy songs and boys singing girl songs. :o) You can definitely tell it's too damned low for me. It was still a blast and a half to sing, though!!!
This is a song sung by request for Nobody. It's not a song I normally would have chosen to record, due to a complete and total lack of confidence in my ability to approach anything close to sounding like rock. But Nobody requested it, so I sang it for Nobody.
Nobody, I hadn't forgotten about the request - was just too nervous to attempt. But I worked hard on it, and hope I did it justice.
I saw a tribute on YouTube that inspired me to add a little ONJ to my repetoire. Pretty song, I enjoyed it! Mic is still down too far, I think...I need to adjust it. But it's not too bad.
This was SO FAST...I didn't have time to swallow or even breathe, anywhere in the song. LOL! No time to think or anything, just SING! But I will admit that it was a lot of fun to sing...even though I messed up my ending, I still love this recording.
This is probably my favorite of the Christmas carols I've song so far. I don't like the way the microphone distorts occasionally, and there are a few places where my voice shows my discomfort. But, for the most part, I fell back on my old training. My tone was placed high, my vibrato somewhat controlled, and my diction for the most part good. I give it my seal of approval! ;o)
I love this song. I obviously had trouble with the arrangement, as you'll hear, and was trying too hard to find a focus in my lower range. I was obviously much more comfortable towards the end than I was at the beginning...I think I was just nervous and trying too hard at the beginning.
